William Hacker was born in England about 1690 and died in Bush's
Ford VA (present day Buckhannon, Upshur County WV) in 1775. He arrived atSouth Patowmack, VA (now Marlboro Point) as a transported convict aboardthe "Forward" January 16, 1730/31. He was convicted at Old BaileySessions in April 1730 of stealing four cocks, seventeen hens, fivedrakes and five ducks belonging to Christopher Tilson.
Like all transported felons, William was required to serve seven
years to obtain his freedom. His sentence ended May 21, 1738 in
Stafford County VA and he married Ann Dillon shortly afterward. Ann wastransported about three years before William and was then known as AnnTurner. She probably married a Dillon before she married William.
