Note:
The question of whether Leo's father was Basil I or Michael IIIis,according to Todd Farmerie, unresolvable, despite what any author'sgiveas proof, and despite who the people at the time might have thoughtwasthe father. They wouldn't have known for sure then, and wecouldn'tnow. So, take your pick? See Todd's post to SGM, 29 May 1998,below:

The question can be summed up real simply. A year or so before Leo cametobe, Michael married his mistress (Leo's mother) to Basil. Short of atimemachine and a DNA test we will not be able to resolve thequestion.Whatever he might have suspected (and it has been argued thathemistreated Leo because he suspected that Leo really wasn't his son)Idoubt Basil knew, (same for Michael) and perhaps even the motherdidn't.Moncreiffe is overstating the case.
